Republican for Canyon County Commissioner
Protecting taxpayers. Strengthening public safety.
Managing growth responsibly.
Canyon County needs a commissioner who's actually run things — not just talked about them.
Farmers Insurance agent in Nampa. He understands budgets, risk, and what it takes to make payroll every month.
As Idaho's State Marketing Director, he opened trade offices in Taipei, Guadalajara, and Shanghai — negotiating deals worth millions.
Managed Warm Springs Ranch, Idaho's third-largest cow/calf operation. He knows land, water, and what it takes to feed a state.
Served on Canyon County's Impact Fee Committee. He's seen firsthand how unchecked development shifts costs to existing homeowners.
Stewart Hyndman is a University of Idaho graduate, lifelong conservative, and proud Idahoan. He started as a professor and extension agent, then managed one of the state's largest cattle operations before rising through Idaho state government to become the Department of Agriculture's State Marketing Director.
As an entrepreneur, he's run a potato export company, a restaurant, a grocery store, a custom-bonded warehouse, and for two decades, his Farmers Insurance agency in Nampa. He serves as Idaho GOP State Committeeman for Canyon County and is a proud Back the Blue Idaho sponsor.
Stewart and his wife Dianne have four adult children and eight grandchildren. When he's not working, he competes in triathlons, hunts, shoots sporting clays, and fly fishes Idaho's rivers.
Canyon County added 16% more people since 2020. Growth brings opportunity — but only if someone is watching out for the people already here.
When a new subdivision goes in, who pays for the roads, the water, the schools? Right now, too much of that falls on existing homeowners.
As a member of Canyon County's Impact Fee Committee, I've seen this problem up close. I'll make sure growth pays its own way — through proper impact fees and responsible budgeting — so your taxes don't go up to build someone else's infrastructure.
Experience: Canyon County Impact Fee Committee member
Our jail was built in 1991 for a county one-third this size. Pod 6 is closed. Officers are working in facilities with 1,600+ documented maintenance failures.
This isn't a talking point — it's a crisis. As a proud Back the Blue sponsor, I'll prioritize modern facilities that protect both the officers who keep us safe and the public they serve.

I'm not anti-growth. I managed 2,300 head of cattle and opened trade offices on three continents. I know what it takes to build something.
But 275,000 people and climbing means we need infrastructure before permits, not after. I'll protect agricultural land, demand that roads and services keep pace with rooftops, and preserve what makes Canyon County worth living in.
